Our unique spoke construction consists of continuous Kevlar and carbon fibers within a thermoplastic resin matrix.

The carbon fiber core provides strength and stiffness, while Kevlar (also used in bullet-proof vests) provides strength and toughness. Our spoke material is only 40% the weight of a 15g steel spoke, while possessing more than three times the tensile strength.

The composite spoke material provides significantly greater vibration damping than steel spokes. This means that the spokes reduce the amount of vibration and road "buzz" felt by the rider.

But, at the same time, the wheels have a beautifully responsive and lively feel - due to their excellent lateral and torsional stiffness.

The spokes are tuned to smooth out the small bumps, and take the edge off the big bumps for improved rider comfort. You’ll find the wheels track quite smoothly, for an improvement in control & confidence you can feel.

All the way

Each Carbon Core™ spoke passes through the hub flange, on to the diametrically opposite side of the rim. This continous-fiber construction makes the most effective use of the advanced composite material.

Virtually all other wheel designs require the hub/spoke interface to support the full spoke tension. Since the Topolino spoke is actually two spokes in one, the hub merely supports the difference in tension between the two spans of the continous spoke.

One need only to look at the deformed spoke holes of a used aluminum hub to recognize the tremendous stresses introduced between the spoke and hub flange of conventional wheels.
